Aaron Reed's Personal Journey
Founder & President, Reed Building Supply
I was three years old the first time I tried to lift a piece of rebar at my father’s worksite. “Watch your fingers,” he said. And just like that, I was introduced to the world of building materials.
By age five, I was learning to run heavy equipment. I grew up in this industry not just watching from the sidelines, but actively absorbing the values, grit, and work ethic that define it. The sights, sounds, and smells of construction became as familiar to me as a football field.
After graduating from Duquesne University, I founded Reed Building Supply, LLC in McKees Rocks, PA. We focus on serving the residential and commercial construction needs of the Greater Pittsburgh area, as well as customers throughout Maryland, New York, and the Tri-State region. As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Reed Building Supply is built on integrity, perseverance, and service.

A Background in Competition, A Mindset for Teamwork
Before business, there was football. I was the first-ever Freshman All-American linebacker at Duquesne, a WPIAL champion, and a two-time state runner-up in basketball. Sports taught me more than how to win - they taught me how to lead, how to serve, and how to stay humble.
The most valuable lesson I learned from my coaches was this: know your role, and do it with excellence. Not everyone scores the touchdowns. Some players are the "glue guys" the ones who hold the team together, who show up every day, do their jobs, and expect no spotlight. I’ve always considered myself one of them. And I built Reed Building Supply with that same mentality.
Business Is a Team Sport
Why It Matters
For me, customer service isn’t just about a transaction—it’s about how much you care. If you genuinely want to make life easier for your customers, if you treat their job like your own, then you’ll build something better than a sale: you’ll build a long-term relationship.
So whether you’re building homes, schools, commercial spaces, or neighborhoods - I’d love to hear from you. Let’s get the game moving.
Email me directly and tell me about your business needs. I’ll make sure we bring you the service and support you deserve.
